Marjorie Minkin

The interaction of light with natural elements is the inspiration for Marjorie Minkin’s abstract paintings on canvas and molded Lexan. Minkin does not paint light illusionistically with traditional techniques. Rather, she utilizes materials and mediums which allow light to be reflected, refracted and absorbed as it is in nature. Iridescent pigments and translucent mediums in the paintings create reflections and forms that vary with the viewer’s vantage point. Minkin’s paintings have been exhibited by many galleries and museums in the United States and internationally.
